Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers to the questions we hear most.

What is a flood zone determination?
A flood zone determination (also called a flood certificate) identifies the FEMA-designated flood zone for a specific property. Lenders require this to determine whether flood insurance is mandatory for a federally-backed mortgage. FloodCert provides FEMA-compliant Standard Flood Hazard Determination Forms (SFHDF).
How fast will I receive my certificate?
Most certificates are delivered instantly — typically within 30 seconds of submitting your request. Our system queries the latest FEMA flood map data in real time so you never have to wait days for a manual review.
Are FloodCert certificates FEMA-compliant?
Yes. Every certificate we generate uses the official FEMA NFIP Standard Flood Hazard Determination Form (FEMA Form 086-0-32) and references the most current FEMA flood map data. Our certificates are accepted by all federally regulated lenders.
How do I add funds to my account?
Log in to your account and navigate to the "Add Funds" page from your dashboard. You can purchase credits using a credit or debit card. Credits never expire and are applied automatically each time you order a certificate.
Can I get a refund if the determination is wrong?
If you believe a determination is inaccurate, please submit a support ticket with the certificate details. We will review the determination at no charge and issue a corrected certificate or refund if an error is confirmed. FloodCert stands behind the accuracy of every certificate.
What if I receive the wrong flood zone?
First, verify the property address entered is correct. If the address is accurate and you believe the zone is wrong, open a support ticket. Our team will compare the result against the official FEMA map panel and issue a corrected certificate if needed.
Do you offer volume or enterprise pricing?
Yes. We offer tiered pricing for high-volume users starting at $14 per certificate. Contact us at info@floodcert.org to discuss custom pricing for your organization.
How do I use the FloodCert API?
After creating an account, generate an API key from your dashboard. Our REST API lets you programmatically submit determination requests and download certificates. Full documentation is available on our API Docs page.
What payment methods do you accept?
We accept all major credit and debit cards (Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover). Enterprise clients may also arrange invoiced billing — contact our sales team for details.
How do I contact support?
You can reach us by email at info@floodcert.org or by submitting a support ticket from your account dashboard. We respond to all inquiries within one business day.
